The news had been in the air for some time and after the final go from the Hyundai Motorsport Alzenau headquarters, HMI - Italian Rally Team has added to its fleet two Hyundai New Generation i20 WRC 2016 spec, stars of the past World Rally Championship season.
After the first tests in Liguria in the last days, the new HMI jewels will debut in the final round of the Italian CIWRC series, the Rally Internazionale di Como, where they will be driven by Corrado Fontana and “Pedro”.
The test was extremely satisfying for both HMI drivers:
"The car is very powerful and fast, different in the balance and engine response compared to the "2015 spec" which I definitely know better," said Corrado Fontana. "I will need some mileage to find the right feeling with the newcomer."
Pedro: "The sensations were straightaway beautiful... it's my car!"
The new arrivals from the "Korean manufacturer" add to the two Hyundai i20 WRC 2015 spec and the two Hyundai New Generation i20 R5 already within the Predosa factory.
